As the communities of West Chester and Liberty Township continue to grow, we see the need for grief support in our community. As our community becomes the new corridor for hospitals and medical facilities, the need for grief support continues to grow.

Of the bereaved in our community, approximately 1400 people seek help through grief support. Many are not sure where to turn for help and the others may not seek grief support due to their nature. In order to reach out to the larger population of bereaved in our community, we realize that we need to create ways to help them. Many of the services Companions on a Journey offer are individualized to the type of grief someone is experiencing. By supporting individuals who are grieving and assuring them that they are not alone, we help those who will in turn help us grow as a community organization and create a healthy community.
