When someone isn’t actively displaying grief, crying, or having a tantrum or showing a big emotion, we think they’re okay. And to a certain extent, they are okay. But it doesn’t mean they’re not grieving. Grief is something that we carry on the inside a lot of times. So to actually invite a child into a group and have them have a place to put their grief on the table to share their grief. I think a lot of kids are walking around grieving and feeling very alone. The benefit of a grief support group is that they can come to the group and feel like they are not alone.
